    • You have had an allergic reaction to any other medicines you take to control the amount of sugar in your blood.

    What are the possible side effects of Trajenta?

    You should stop taking Trajenta and see your doctor right away if you have the following symptoms of low blood sugar: shivering, sweating, restlessness, blurred vision, tingling lips, paleness, mood changes or confusion (hypoglycemia). Hypoglycemia (frequent: very common, may affect more than 1 in 10 people) is a side effect identified when linagliptin is taken with metformin and a sulfonylurea.

    Some patients have had potentially serious allergic reactions while taking linagliptin alone or in combination with other diabetes products, including wheezing and shortness of breath. Some patients have had a rash, hives (urticaria), and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat that may cause difficulty breathing or swallowing (angioedema). Some patients have developed inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) while taking linagliptin alone or in combination with other medicines to treat diabetes.

    Some patients have experienced the following side effects while taking linagliptin alone or in combination with other medical products to treat diabetes:

    • Common: High level of lipase in the blood.

    • Uncommon: inflammation of the nose or throat (nasopharyngitis), coughing, constipation (combined with insulin), elevated serum amylase.

    • Rare: blistering of the skin (bullous pemphigoid).

    In particular, you should tell your doctor if you are using medicines containing any of the following active ingredients:
