Euphamin Retard tablets act as an antibiotic.
Euphamin Retard is used to prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidneys, and other parts of the urinary tract.
 
Do not take Yuvamin Retard:
if you are allergic to nitrofurantoin, other medicines containing nitrofurantoin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
If you have kidney disease
If you are in the last stages of pregnancy as there is a risk that it may affect the baby
If you have a blood disorder called porphyria
if you have a deficiency of an enzyme called g6pd (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase)
If your child is less than three months old
 
What are the warnings and precautions for Yofamin Retard?
Talk to your doctor before taking Yuvamin Retard.
If you suffer from diabetes
If you suffer from any disease that causes severe weakness
If you suffer from anemia. Vitamin B deficiency or abnormal levels of salts in your blood (your doctor will be able to advise you)
If you have a history of allergies
If you have any kidney problems
If you lack an enzyme (body chemical) called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
If you have any disease of the lungs, liver or nervous system

Medications for high pressure in the eye, eg carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (eg acetazolamide)
Medicines that make urine less acidic (such as potassium citrate mixture)
Inflammatory drugs, known as quinolones
Typhoid vaccine, which is given to prevent typhoid.
 
How do I take Yofamin Retard?
Euphamin Retard for adults: Recommended dosage
For the treatment of infections: either one 50 mg capsule or one 100 mg capsule four times a day for seven days
To prevent further infections: Either one 50mg capsule or one 100mg capsule at bedtime
For the prevention of infections during surgery: One 50 mg capsule four times a day on the day of the operation and three days thereafter.
Use in children and infants over three months of age: Dosage is based on the child"s weight and will be provided by your doctor
Nitrofurantoin should always be taken with food or milk. Taking this medicine with food or milk may make it work more effectively.
