Why Fluticasone Propionate is used

Fluticasone propionate is used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (nasal allergies), including congestion, runny or itchy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and itchy or red eyes. It is also used to treat small polyps inside the nose when used as a nasal drop.

Do not take Fluticasone Propionate

if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this drug.

Warnings and Precautions

Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including:

If you have eye problems such as glaucoma.

If you have recently had nasal surgery.

If you have any current infections.

If you have adrenal gland problems.

Possible Side Effects

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; Difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.
Very common side effects:
Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
Other medications and fluticasone propionate
Tell your doctor about all the medications you take.
Fluticasone propionate interacts with the following medications:
Antifungal ketoconazole
Ritonavir and cobicistat for HIV
Other corticosteroids
How to take fluticasone propionate:
This medication is for adults and children 4 years and older.
Take this medication as directed by your doctor.
Use this medication only in your nose.
Nasal spray for adults and children 12 years and older: The recommended dose is two sprays in each nostril once daily.
Nasal spray for children 4–11 years: The recommended dose is one spray in each nostril once daily. Nasal drops: The usual recommended dose is 400 mcg (one dose container) divided equally between both nostrils once or twice daily.
How to store fluticasone propionate:
Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
Keep this medication out of reach of children.
Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the carton.
