What are the uses of Sevikar 10/40 mg tablets?
Sevikar 10/40 mg tablets contain two substances called olmesartan medoxomil and amlodipine besylate. These two substances help control high blood pressure.
• Olmesartan Medoxomil belongs to a group of medicines called “Angiotensin II receptor antagonists”.
• Amlodipine belongs to a group of substances called “calcium channel blockers”.

Do not take Sevikar 10/40 mg tablets if:
• If you are allergic to olmesartan medoxomil or amlodipine or a special group of calcium channel blockers, dihydropyridine, or any of the other ingredients of Sevikar 10/40 mg tablets.
• If you suffer from diabetes or impaired kidney function and are being treated with a medicine to lower blood pressure that contains aliskiren.
• If you have serious liver problems, if bile secretion is poor or if there is a blockage in the drainage of bile from the gallbladder or
   If you suffer from any jaundice.
• If you suffer from very low blood pressure.
• If you suffer from decreased blood flow to your tissues with symptoms such as low blood pressure, low pulse, and fast heartbeat.
• If the flow of blood from your heart is obstructed.
• If you have had a decrease in cardiac output (leading to shortness of breath or peripheral swelling) after a heart attack.

What are the warnings and precautions for Svikar 10/40 mg?
Tell your doctor if you have any of the following health problems:
• Kidney problems or kidney transplant.
• Liver disease.
• Heart failure or problems with the heart valves or heart muscle.
• Severe vomiting, diarrhea, treatment with high doses of "water tablets" or if you are following a low-salt diet.
• Increased potassium levels in the blood.
• Problems with the adrenal glands.
