Product Description

Bromhexine Syrup 0.8 mg/ml*

What is Bromhexine used for?
Treatment and elimination of bronchopulmonary diseases or conditions associated with abnormal mucus secretions.

Do not use Bromhexine if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Children under 6 years of age.

Warnings and Precautions
Hypersensitivity: Anaphylactic reactions have been reported with the use of ambroxol, a metabolite of bromhexine.
Excessive secretions: Increased mucus secretions may occur.
Severe skin reactions: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis have been associated with the use of bromhexine. While early manifestations of SJS/TEN are rare, they may include nonspecific flu-like symptoms (e.g., fever, aches, rhinitis, cough, sore throat), which are often treated with regimens that include mucolytics. A causal relationship is difficult to establish; the appearance of new skin/mucosal lesions should prompt discontinuation of bromhexine and prompt evaluation.

Disease-Related Concerns:
Peptic Ulcers: Use with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcers.
Liver Disease: Use with caution in patients with severe liver disease.
Renal Impairment: Use with caution in patients with severe renal failure.

Possible Side Effects
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, faintness, or difficulty breathing. Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.

Other Drugs with Bromhexine
No known significant interactions.
