What is Chlorpheniramine Maleate/Phenylephrine Hydrochloride used for?
Chlorpheniramine Maleate/Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is used to treat the symptoms of allergies and colds, such as sneezing, runny nose, and stuffy nose.
Do not take Chlorpheniramine Maleate/Phenylephrine Hydrochloride.
• If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• If you have been taking antidepressants, certain drugs for Parkinson's disease, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) for at least two weeks.
Warnings and Precautions
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including if you have:
• If you have a long-term cough due to smoking or being around smokers, or if you have lung problems such as asthma or emphysema.
• If you have closed-angle glaucoma.
• If you have severe high blood pressure or heart failure.
• If you have liver or kidney disease.
• If you have urinary tract problems.
• If you have diabetes.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication.
Do not take this medication for longer than directed by your doctor.
Possible Side Effects
Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing. Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.
Common Side Effects:
• Feeling sleepy.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you take.
This medication interacts with medications for anxiety, depression, and Parkinson's disease, as well as sedatives and other antihistamines, including cough and cold products.
How to take Chlorpheniramine Maleate/Phenylephrine Hydrochloride
• This medication is intended for use in adults and children.
• Take this medication with or without food. Take it with food if it causes stomach upset.
• Measure liquid doses accurately. Use the measuring device provided with this medication. If one is not available, ask your pharmacist for a measuring device.
• Adults: 5 ml every 4 hours. Do not exceed 30 ml in 24 hours.
• Children aged 6-12 years: 1 ml every 4 hours. Do not exceed 6 ml in 24 hours.
• For children 2-6 years of age: 0.5 mL every 4 hours. Do not exceed 3 mL in 24 hours.
How to store Chlorpheniramine Maleate/Phenylephrine Hydrochloride
• Store this medication at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C).
• Keep this medication out of the reach of children.
• Do not use this medication after the expiration date on the carton.
