Fusidic acid 20 mg/g ointment*

Why is fusidic acid used?
Fusidic acid is used to treat certain skin infections caused by bacteria, such as impetigo (sores and scabs), infected wounds, and burns.

Do not use fusidic acid if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this drug.

Warnings and Precautions:
• Use caution when using this medication near your eyes.
• Do not use for a long time. Recurrence may occur.

Possible Side Effects:
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.

Side effects include:
• Mild skin irritation
• Skin rash
• Eczema

Other medications and fusidic acid:
• Tell your doctor about all the medications you take.

How to take fusidic acid:
• For external use only.
• Use this medication as directed by your doctor.
• Wash your hands before use.
• Apply 2 to 3 times daily.

How to store fusidic acid:
• Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
• Keep this medication out of the reach of children.
• Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the carton.
