    1. What is ramipril and what it is used for:
    Ramipril belongs to a group of medicines called converting enzyme inhibitors. Ramipril works by:
    Reducing the body"s production of substances that can raise blood pressure  Making blood vessels relax and widen
    This makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.

    Ramipril can be used:
    To treat high blood pressure (hypertension). To reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke To reduce the risk or delay the worsening of kidney problems To treat your heart when it cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body (heart failure) As a treatment after a heart attack (myocardial infarction) heart) with heart failure.

    2. What do you need to know before you take ramipril?
    If you are allergic to ramipril, any other ACE inhibitor, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you have ever had a serious allergic reaction called "angioedema". if you have taken or are currently taking sacubitril/valsartan, a medicine used to treat a type of long-term (chronic) heart failure in adults.     Other medicines and ramipril:
    Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines.

    They can make ramipril work less:
    Medicines used to relieve pain and inflammation, such as ibuprofen or indomethacin.
    Medicines used to treat low blood pressure, shock, heart failure, asthma or allergies such as ephedrine, noradrenaline, or adrenaline.

    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
    They can increase the chance of side effects if you take it with ramipril:

    You should not take ramipril in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and you should not take it at all from the 13th week because its use during pregnancy may be harmful to the baby. If you become pregnant while taking ramipril, tell your doctor right away. A switch to appropriate alternative therapy should be made before pregnancy is planned. Do not take ramipril if you are breastfeeding.

    Driving and using machines:
    You may feel dizzy while taking ramipril. This is more likely to happen when you start taking ramipril or start taking a higher dose. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines.

    3. How to take ramipril:
    High blood pressure treatment
    The usual starting dose is 1.25 mg or 2.5 mg once daily.
    Your doctor will adjust the amount you take so that your blood pressure is under control.
    The maximum dose is 10 mg once daily.
    If you are already taking diuretics (water tablets), your doctor may stop or reduce the amount of diuretics you are taking before starting your treatment with ramipril.
    To reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke

    The usual dose is 10 mg once daily.
    Treatment to reduce or delay the worsening of kidney problems
    May start with a dose of 1.25 mg or 2.5 mg once daily.

    The usual dose is 5 mg or 10 mg once daily.
    Heart failure treatment
    The usual starting dose is 1.25 mg once daily.

    The maximum dose is 10 mg daily. Two administrations per day are preferred.
    Treatment after a heart attack
    The usual starting dose is 1.25 mg once daily to 2.5 mg twice daily.

    How to take this medicine:
    Take this medication by mouth at the same time of day each day.
    Swallow the tablets whole with liquid.
    Do not crush or chew the tablets.

    4. Possible side effects:
    Stop taking ramipril and consult a doctor immediately, if you notice any of the following serious side effects - you may need urgent medical treatment:
    Swelling of the face, lips, or throat that makes swallowing or breathing difficult, as well as itching and rashes. This may be a sign of a severe allergic reaction to ramipril tablets.

    Tell your doctor right away if you experience:

    The following symptoms may occur:

    5. How to store ramipril:
    Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
    Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister packs.
