1. What is this preparation and what are the indications for its use?

Seretide Evoweler contains two medicines, salmeterol and fluticasone grovionate:

Salmeterol is a bronchodilator (long-acting beta-2-adrenoceptor agonist). Bronchodilators help the airways in the lungs to remain open. This enables air to enter and exit easily. The effect lasts for at least 12 hours.

Fluticasone provionate is an adrenal corticosteroid that reduces swelling and irritation of the lung.

The doctor prescribed this medicine to help prevent breathing problems, as in:

asthma.

You should use Seretide every day as directed by your doctor. This ensures that it works effectively in controlling asthma.

Seretide helps stop shortness of breath and wheezing. It does not work as soon as you feel shortness of breath or wheezing. If this happens, you need to use a fast-acting symptomatic drug, such as salbutamol.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any further questions about these uses.

2. What you need to know before using this product?

Do not take Seretide Evohaler if:

Special precautions when using Seretide Evohaler:

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Seretide Evowheeler if:

you have severe symptoms (use a fast-acting bronchodilator for symptoms).

You have an overactive thyroid gland.

You frequently use asthma relievers.

You have or have had a history of tuberculosis.

you have high blood pressure;

You have heart disease, including an irregular or fast heartbeat.

you have kidney problems if your doctor has switched your treatment from oral corticosteroids to inhaled corticosteroids.

you have diabetes;

You have a low level of potassium in your blood.

The current dose of Seretide was failing to provide adequate asthma control.

If you stop treatment, do not stop it suddenly because of the risk of worsening symptoms.

If you develop a sudden and increasing deterioration in your asthma control (this is life-threatening), you should contact your doctor and he or she may increase the dose of corticosteroids.

Increased use of a fast-acting bronchodilator symptom reliever is an indication of worsening of the condition.

Your therapeutic dose will be titrated to the lowest dose that gives and maintains effective control.

If your child has asthma and is treated with Seretide, their height will be monitored by their doctor.

You should carry a steroid warning label if your treatment is switched from systemic corticosteroids to inhaled corticosteroids.

You should stop using Seretide if you feel an increase in wheezing after taking a dose, and take a fast-acting bronchodilator right away.

If the heart rate increases, this is a transient effect and tends to decrease with continued treatment.

Taking other medicines with this medicine, herbal preparations or nutritional supplements:

This is because Seretide Evohaler can affect the way some medicines work. Also some other medicines can affect the way Seretide Evowheeler works.

In particular, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines:

Beta-blockers, such as propranolol, are used to treat an irregular or fast heartbeat.

Antiviral and antifungal medicines (such as ritonavir, ketoconazole).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

As with all medicines, do not use Seretide if you are pregnant, especially in the first trimester, unless considered essential by your doctor.

How do you take Seretide Evohaler?

Take Seretide Evohaler by mouth only.

Changing from a corticosteroid alone to a combination therapy will benefit you by either increasing asthma control or decreasing the dose of the corticosteroid.

Seretide 25 mcg/250 mcg - 2 doses twice a day.

Seretide 25 mcg/50 mcg - two doses twice a day.

Children under 4 years old:

There are no data available for the use of Seretide in children younger than 4 years of age.

Symptoms may be well controlled by using Seretide twice a day. If so, your doctor may decide to lower your dose to once a day.

It is very important to follow your doctor"s instructions about how many inhalations and how to take the medicine.

If your asthma or breathing gets worse, tell your doctor right away. You may wheeze more, have tightness in your chest more often, or you may need to use your fast-acting symptom-relieving medication more often. If this happens, you should continue to take Seretide without increasing the number of puffs you take. Your chest condition may get worse and the condition can become serious. See your doctor because you may need additional treatment.

Special group of patients:

There is no need to adjust the dose in the elderly or those with kidney or liver problems.

If you take more Seretide Evohaler than you should:

If you take more Seretide Evohaler than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away. Take the medicine package with you.

The following effects may occur:

Effects of salmeterol

Your heart may beat faster than usual.

You feel a shiver.

High blood pressure becomes.
