A 50g foil tube with a blue, triangular cap.Voltaren Emulgel is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic preparation for topical application.Its active ingredient is equivalent to 1% diclofenac sodium.This white, creamy, non-greasy preparation is easy to massage in and absorb into the skin. Its aqueous-alcohol base provides a soothing and cooling effect.Experiments have shown that diclofenac inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis, which is an important factor in its mechanism of action.Voltaren Emulgel has also been shown to relieve pain, reduce swelling caused by fluid accumulation, and reduce the time required for recovery of normal function in cases of inflammation resulting from rheumatism or trauma.Voltaren Emulgel is used to treat the following conditions:Local forms of soft tissue rheumatism, such as tendonitis, tendonitis, shoulder and hand syndrome, bursitis, and periarticular osteoarthritisLocal rheumatic diseases, such as osteoarthritis of the spine and peripheral jointsPost-traumatic inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints, such as those resulting from sprains, muscle strains, tendon strains, or contusions
Directions for Use
Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, use 2 to 4 grams (approximately the size of a cherry or a walnut), enough to cover an area of 400 to 800 cm2. Warnings and Precautions:
Contraindications: Allergy to diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid, NSAIDs, isopropanol, or propylene glycol.Precautions: Voltaren Emulgel should be used on intact skin and not on broken skin or open wounds.The product should not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes.Pregnancy: During the first three months and the following three months: Animal studies have not shown any risk to the fetus.For the last three months of pregnancy: Voltaren Emulgel should not be used due to the risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and reduced uterine contractility.
Ingredients
Each 50 g of Voltaren Emulgel contains the active ingredient, diclofenac diethylamine, equivalent to 1 g of diclofenac sodium, as well as propylene glycol and odor-enhancing agents.
