1. What this product is and what it is used forProperties: Eylox contains ofloxacin which is broad-spectrum antibiotic. It has activity against gram-negative and gram-positive organisms. Eylox is bactericidal and acts by inhibiting the reproduction of bacterial DNA.Indications: Eylox eye drops is indicated for the treatment of conjunctivits caused by susceptible strains of the following bacteria:- Gram-positive: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae.- Gram-negative: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter cloacae and Haemophilus influenzae.2. What you need to know before you use this productContraindications: Eylox is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ofloxacin, or to any component of this product or to other quinolones.Precautions: As with other antibiotic preparations, prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi. Eylox shouldn"t be used during pregnancy or lactation.3. How to use this product.The recommended dosage of Eylox :-Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac every two to four daily hours for the first two days and 1-2 drops four times for the next five days.4. Possible side effectsSide Effects: In clinical trials, the most frequently reported drug-related side effect was local burning or discomfort, other side effects were conjunctival hyperemia, and a bad taste following instillation.5. How to store this productStore between 15-25C; protect from light, and discard bottle one month after opening.
