Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone 20 mg, 1 mg/1 g Cream

What is Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone used for?

The Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone combination is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions (such as eczema) that are also infected with bacteria.

Do not take Fusidic Acid/Betamethasone:

If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

To treat skin infections caused by viruses, such as canker sores or chickenpox.

To treat skin infections caused by fungi.

To treat a skin condition called acne rosacea, which is redness and inflammation on your nose and cheeks.

To treat perioral dermatitis (a red, patchy rash around your mouth or chin).

If you have tuberculosis or syphilis.

To treat infected dermatitis in children under 1 year of age.

To treat acne.

Warnings and Precautions:

Tell your doctor about all your health conditions before using this medication. Be careful if using this medication near your eyes.
If you use this medication for a long time or in large amounts, you may experience side effects or it may not kill the bacteria.
Do not use this medication for a long time on your face.
Unless directed by your doctor, do not use this medication on open wounds or sensitive areas such as your nostrils, ears, lips, or genitals.
Do not use this medication on thin skin, skin sores, broken veins, or acne.

Possible side effects:

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.

Tell your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms:

Thinning skin; Stretch marks; Hair growth; Small veins appearing on the skin's surface; Skin discoloration.
