    Perindopril arginine is a medicine that belongs to a class of medicines known as an "ACE inhibitor".
    It works by widening the blood vessels, making it easier for your heart to pump blood through them.
     
    Perindopril arginine is used for the following indications:
    To treat high blood pressure.
    To treat heart failure (a disorder that makes the heart muscle unable to pump blood properly).
    To reduce the risk of cardiac events, such as a heart attack, in patients with stable coronary artery disease (a disorder in which blood flow to the heart is blocked or reduced) and in patients who have previously had a heart attack and/or the process of enhancing blood flow to the heart by vasodilation bloody;
     
    Do not take perindopril arginine:
    If you are allergic to perindopril, any of the other ingredients of this medicine, or any other ACE inhibitor.
    if you have previously had angioedema due to perindopril or another ACE inhibitor.
    Angioedema is a condition that is manifested by signs and symptoms such as swelling of the face, throat, or tongue, wheezing, severe itching, or a severe rash.
    If a family member has previously had angioedema due to perindopril arginine or another ACE inhibitor.
    If you are more than 3 months pregnant.
    If you have diabetes or kidney problems while taking aliskiren.
     
    Warnings and precautions:
    Stop taking the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, and dizziness.
    Talk to your doctor if you have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a problem with the heart muscle), aortic stenosis (narrowing of the main blood vessels leading to the heart) or renal artery stenosis (narrowing of the artery that supplies blood to the kidneys).
    Talk to your doctor before starting this medicine if you have liver or kidney problems or if you are on dialysis.
    Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you have diabetes.
    Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you have a collagen vascular disease (a connective tissue disorder) such as scleroderma or systemic lupus erythematosus.
    Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you are on a salt-restricted diet or use salt substitutes that contain potassium.
    Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you are going to have an LDL apheresis (removing cholesterol from your blood using a machine).

    How to take perindopril arginine:
    hypertension
    The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily.
    The dose may be increased to 10 mg once a day if necessary after one month. The maximum dose is 10 mg per day.
    If you are 65 years of age or older, the recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg orally once daily.
    The dose may be increased to 5 mg once daily after a month and then to 10 mg once daily if necessary.
    Heart failure
    The recommended dose is 2.5 mg orally once a day.
    The dose may be increased to 5 mg once daily after 2 weeks. The maximum recommended dose is 5 mg once daily.
    stable coronary artery disease
    The recommended initial dose is 5 mg once a day.
    The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily after 2 weeks. The maximum recommended dose is 10 mg once daily.
    If you are 65 years of age or older, the recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once daily.
    The dose may be increased to 5 mg once daily after a week and to 10 mg once daily after another week.
     
    Children and teens:
    This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
    Take the tablet before food in the morning.
    Take the tablet with a full glass of water.
    Take the medication exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
     
    How to store perindopril arginine:
    Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and pets.
