Levofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, meaning it is effective against a wide range of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Emifloc 500Mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of designated microorganisms in the conditions listed in the official prescribing information.
Directions for use: Emifloc 500Mg Tablets should be taken orally once daily, with or without food. The dosage and duration of treatment will depend on the type and severity of the infection, as well as your kidney function. It is important to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better, to ensure the infection is completely eradicated and to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance.
Important Information: Emifloc is a prescription antibiotic. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to levofloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin). Also, tell your doctor about any other medical conditions you have, especially kidney problems, liver problems, heart problems (including a personal or family history of QT prolongation), diabetes, nerve problems, or muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis). Tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur. Fluoroquinolones have been associated with serious side effects, including tendinitis and tendon rupture, nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy), central nervous system effects (e.g., seizures, confusion, hallucinations), and heart rhythm problems. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of these serious side effects. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light as levofloxacin can increase your sensitivity to the sun. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.
