Product Description
Muxava® 400 mg Tablets (5 pieces) contain moxifloxacin, a powerful fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in adults by killing the harmful bacteria. This prescription-only medication is used when other antibiotics are not suitable or have not been effective.
Before using Muxava® or any medication, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional for accurate information and guidance. The following information is for general knowledge and should not be considered medical advice.

Key Product Features and Uses
  • Active Ingredient: Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg of moxifloxacin.
  • Mechanism of Action: It works by stopping the growth and replication of bacteria by inhibiting key bacterial enzymes (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV).
  • Indications: Muxava® is used to treat specific bacterial infections, including:
    • Respiratory Infections: Acute bacterial sinusitis, sudden worsening of long-term bronchitis, and community-acquired pneumonia (except severe cases).
    • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease: Mild to moderate infections of the female upper genital tract, often in combination with other antibiotics.
    • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: In some treatment courses when initiated with intravenous therapy.

Important Warnings and Precautions
  • Prescription Required: Muxava® is a prescription-only medication and should only be used as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Serious Side Effects: This medicine can cause serious and potentially irreversible side effects. Stop taking Muxava® and call your doctor immediately if you experience:
    • Tendon Problems: Pain, swelling, or rupture of a tendon (especially in the heel, shoulder, or wrist).
    • Nerve Damage: Numbness, tingling, burning pain, or weakness in the arms or legs.
    • Heart Issues: Fast or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, or fainting spells, as it can prolong the QT interval (a heart rhythm condition).
    • Severe Allergic Reactions: Rash, hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat.
  • Administration:
    • Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of liquid.
    • Can be taken with or without food.
    • Avoid taking antacids, iron, zinc, or magnesium supplements at the same time as Muxava®; separate the doses by at least 6 hours.
  • Photosensitivity: Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or UV light while taking this medication as it may increase skin sensitivity.
Always complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor to prevent antibiotic resistance, even if you feel better after a few days.
