What is naphazoline and what is it used for:
Naphazoline is a decongestant used for the temporary relief of eye redness due to minor eye irritation and to relieve signs of allergy.
 
Do not take naphazoline if:
Hypersensitivity to naphazoline
You have glaucoma, serious eye disease, or previous eye surgery.
 
Warnings and precautions:
Do not use by contact lens wearers while wearing the lenses.
If you are being treated for high blood pressure, depression, heart disease, diabetes or an overactive thyroid, consult your doctor before using the drops.
Throw away any remaining eye drops 28 days after opening the package.
Continued use of this product may increase eye redness.
If you experience eye pain, vision changes or persistent eye redness, or if condition worsens or persists for more than 24 hours, consult a physician.
If the solution changes color or becomes cloudy, do not use it.
 
Possible side effects:
transient irritation
stinging may occur
 
Other medicines and naphazoline:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist of all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
May interact with other topically applied medications used to treat glaucoma
May interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and should not be used in patients receiving such treatment or within 14 days of stopping treatment.
It may reverse the effect of medicines used to treat high blood pressure.
There may be an increased risk of arrhythmias in patients receiving cardiac glycosides (digoxin), quinidine or tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, desipramine).
 
How to take naphazoline:
For adults and children over 12 years of age and older: 1 or 2 drops in the corner of each eye.
For topical application to the eye.
Squeeze the drops gently into the corner of the eye.
Do not use more than 4 times daily.
 
How to store naphazoline:
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25 degrees
