What is Aescin/Diethylamine Salicylate and what is it used for?
Aescin is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as "capillary stabilizers." It works by acting on blood vessels, reducing fluid leakage into tissues and accelerating the resolution of edema (swelling caused by fluid).It also reduces inflammation and improves blood circulation.
Diethylamine Salicylate is a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent. This product is used to relieve pain and inflammation and treat swelling and localized congestion caused by crush injuries, sprains, bruises, hematomas (blood accumulation), bruises, tenosynovitis, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis (inflammation that causes a blood clot to form and block one or more veins), disc lesions, neck pain, and other types of spinal-related pain. It can also be used to treat veins after injections.
Do not use Aescin/Diethylamine Salicylate:
If you are allergic to Aescin, Diethylamine Salicylate, or any of the ingredients in this medicine. Tell your doctor about the allergy and any signs you experience.
On mucous membranes, areas of skin that have been exposed to radiation therapy, or areas of broken skin.
Warnings and Precautions:
Stop using this medicine immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you experience allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, or dizziness.
Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve.
Do not apply this gel to areas of skin affected by eczema (atopic dermatitis), ulcers, or areas of skin that have been exposed to radiation to prevent a burning sensation.
This medicine is for external topical use only. Do not ingest this medicine.
Possible Side Effects:
Side effects include an allergic reaction (such as rash, hives, itching), skin redness, peeling, hives (raised, pale red bumps or plaques), and angioneurotic edema (recurrent, unexpected episodes of swelling in tissues such as the eyes, lips, oral cavity, intestines, and throat).
Other Medications and Aescin/Diethylamine Salicylate:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications, including prescription and nonprescription medications, herbal products, vitamins, and supplements.
Avoid using this product if you are taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) to prevent an increased risk of bleeding.
How to Use Aescin/Diethylamine Salicylate:
Spread a thin layer of the product on the affected area of your skin once daily or more frequently. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions if they recommend using the medication differently.
Reseal the gel cap after use. Be sure to wash your hands before and after applying the medication.
How to store Aescin/Diethylamine Salicylate:
Keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets.
Store this medicine at room temperature.Do not use this medicine after the expiration date printed on the carton.
Keep this medicine in its original package to protect it from moisture and light.
Do not dispose of this medicine via wastewater or household waste.
