Ofloxacin / prednisolone / tetrahydrozoline eye drops contain three active ingredients:
Ofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic.
 Prednisolone, a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties.
 Tetrahydrozoline is a decongestant used to relieve redness in the eyes caused by minor eye irritation.
Ofloxacin/Prednisolone/Tetrahydrozoline is indicated for corticosteroid-responsive inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment (conjunctiva, cornea, eyelid) and posterior segment inflammation where there is a bacterial infection or a risk of bacterial infection.
 
What you need to know before using ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline eye drops?
Do not use ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline eye drops if:
 If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
 
Warnings and precautions:
Tell your doctor about all of your health conditions, including, if:
 You are sensitive to other quinolone antibacterial agents. Long-term use may result in a new bacterial infection that does not respond to ofloxacin.
 You have a defect or ulcer on the surface of the eye.
 You have diabetes.
 You have high blood pressure.
 you were born or have a family history of a prolonged QT interval, you have a blood salt imbalance, you have a very slow heartbeat, you have a history of heart attack, you are female, elderly, or you are taking other medications that cause abnormal changes in the electrocardiogram.
 
Possible side effects:
The following side effects have also been known to occur, including:
 Allergic reactions.
 hormonal problems;
 eye irritation;
Eye discomfort.
 visual disturbances;
 tearing down.
inflammation.
 redness.
photosensitivity;
 Feeling of having something in your eye.
 eye swelling;
Puffiness around the eyes.
 eye pain;
Drought.
 dizziness;
 nausea;
 Life-threatening arrhythmias.
 Cataracts.
 
Other medicines and ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline:
 If you are using any other eye medication, wait 15 minutes between each medication.
 Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might use any other medicines.
 You should tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that can alter your heart rhythm: medicines belonging to the group of antiarrhythmics, tricyclic antidepressants, some antimicrobials (belonging to the group of macrolides), some antipsychotics.
Steroid eye drops and beta-blocker eye drops (to treat high pressure in the eye) together may cause calcium phosphate to deposit on the surface of the eye.
 
How to use ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline eye drops:
 Always use ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline eye drops exactly as your doctor has told you.
 The usual dose is 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 2 to 4 hours for the first 2 days and then 4 times a day thereafter. To be effective, ofloxacin must be taken regularly. The duration of treatment should not exceed ten days.
 The bottle should not be used if the tamper-proof seal on the neck of the bottle is broken prior to its first use.
 
 Apply eye drops in the following way:
1. Wash your hands. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling.
2. Gently pull the lower eyelid down until there is a small pocket
3. Turn the bottle upside down and tap to release one or two drops into each eye that needs treatment.
4. Let go of lower eyelid, and close your eye for 30 seconds. If you miss an eye drop, try again.
To avoid contamination, do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or anything else. Replace and tighten cap immediately after use.
 
How to store ofloxacin/prednisolone/tetrahydrozoline eye drops:
 Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
 Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the single-dose package after EXP. The expiration date refers to the last day of the same month.
 Keep single-dose containers in their pouches to protect them from light. After the sachet is first opened, use the single-dose packages within 15 days.
 After opening the single-dose package: Use immediately and discard the single-dose package after use.
 Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
