1. What is Scopinal and what is it used for?
Scopinal tablets contain the medicinal substance "hyoscine-n-butylbromide", which belongs to a group of medicines known as "antispasmodics".
 
Scopinal is used to treat muscle spasms:
stomach.
Intestine.
The bladder and the tubes that release urine outside the body (urinary system).
It is also used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.
 
2. What you need to know before using Scopinal tablets?
You should not take Scobinal solution in the following cases:
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to hyoscine-n-butylbromide or any of the other ingredients in Scopinal tablets (see section 6).
If you suffer from glaucoma (eye problem)
If you suffer from a condition known as "myasthenia gravis" (a very rare problem of muscle weakness).
If it is suspected that you have or already have a bowel obstruction.
If you have a condition where your intestines are blocked and not working properly (paralytic ileus or functional bowel obstruction).
Symptoms include severe abdominal pain accompanied by constipation and/or nausea/vomiting.
If you have severely enlarged intestines (megacolon).
If you are pregnant, want to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding your baby.
You should not take this medicine if any of the above conditions apply to you.

How to store the preparation:
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
This medicine should not be taken after the expiry date which is stated on the package and the inner label of the bottle.
Store at a temperature below 30ºC, away from light. After opening the package, use within one month.
You should not take this medicine if you notice obvious signs of damage.
Medicines should not be disposed of via waste water (wastewater) or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures will help protect the environment.
