Mechanism Of Action Of CHLORPHENIRAMIN

  • H1 histamine receptor antagonist; competes for H1-receptor sites in target cells in the respiratory tract, blood vessels, and gastrointestinal tract.
  • Sedative first generation

 

Therapeutic Indications Of Allerfin Tablets

  • used for the relief of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy, watery, red eyes and itchy nose and throat.
  • It is also being used to treat hives.

 

Method Of Administration Of Allerfin Tablets

  • Tablets need to be swallowed with a full glass of water
  • Adults and children of 12 years and over: One Every four to six hours, Don’t take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.
  • Children of 6 to 11 years Half a tablet every four to six hours, Don’t give more than 6 half tablets in 24 hours.
  • Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

  1. You are allergic to chlorphenamine maleate, any other antihistamines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  2. You are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (for depression) or have taken them within the last 14 days
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before Tablets If:
  1. You have epilepsy
  2. You have liver or kidney problems
  3. You have heart problems, severe high blood pressure
  4. You have asthma, bronchitis or bronchiectasis or chronic lung problems (difficulty in breathing and cough that won’t go away)
  5. You have raised pressure in your eye (glaucoma)
  6. You are a man with prostate problems

  • other medicines, particularly any of the following:
  1. Other antihistamines, including those in cough and cold medicines, that make you sleepy
