Olmesartan/Hydrochlorothiazide contains two active ingredients, olmesartan medoxomil and hydrochlorothiazide, that are used to treat high blood pressure:
Olmesartan medoxomil is one of a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
Hydrochlorothiazide is one of a group of medicines called thiazide diuretics.

Do not take Olmetec Plus Tabs:
if you are allergic to olmesartan medoxomil or hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or substances similar to hydrochlorothiazide (sulfonamides)
If you have serious kidney problems
If you have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are being treated with a blood pressure lowering medication containing aliskiren
if you have low potassium or sodium, high calcium, or high levels of uric acid in your blood (with symptoms of gout or kidney stones) that do not improve with treatment
If you have severe liver problems, yellowing of the skin and eyes, or problems draining bile from the gallbladder.

What are the warnings and precautions for Olmetec Plus Tabs?
Before taking the tablets, tell your doctor if you have any of the following health problems:
Mild to moderate kidney problems or if you have had a recent kidney transplant
Liver diseases
Heart failure or problems with the heart valves or heart muscles
Vomiting or diarrhea that is severe or lasts for several days
Treatment with high doses of water tablets or if you are on a low-salt diet
Adrenal gland problems
diabetic
lupus erythematosus
Allergies or asthma
If you have ever had skin cancer or if you develop an unexpected skin lesion during treatment.

What are the possible side effects of Olmetec Plus Tabs?
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If they occur, they are often mild and do not require discontinuation of treatment. Although not many people get it, the following side effects can be dangerous: Allergic reactions that may affect the whole body and low blood pressure.

Other side effects include:
Dizziness, headache, nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, stomach pain, gastroenteritis, fatigue, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, bronchitis, flu-like symptoms, cough, pain, pain in chest, back, bone or joints Urinary tract infection, swelling of the ankles, feet, legs, hands, or arms, blood in the urine.
Some changes in blood test results.
Lack of energy, muscle cramps, impaired kidney function, kidney failure.
Decreased or loss of appetite.
Swollen and ulcerated salivary glands, bone marrow damage, insomnia, depression, trouble sleeping, apathy, tingling, numbness, convulsions, blurred vision, dry eyes, irregular heartbeat, vasculitis, blood clots, and pneumonia. This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the blister strip after EXP. The expiration date refers to the last day of the same month.
